High five for Woodcote as they build on early opener

WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW ran out 5-2 winners in their fourth and last match of the season against ROTHERFIELD UNITED.

The home side, who had already beaten United twice in their previous encounters, forged ahead on just two minutes after Gareth Evans was brought down 20 yards out.

Michael Butcher’s free kick was too powerful for the keeper, who managed to get a hand to it but could only help it into the net.

A minute later, Butcher had a good chance to add to his tally but shot narrowly wide after a good passing movement.

Rotherfield weathered the early storm and might have equalised after eight minutes but Kane Roberts made a good save from a free header.
