Spot-kick heartache for Kites

Finchampstead 1 Henley Town 1 (after extra time; Finchampstead won 5-4 on penalties)

HENLEY TOWN missed out on a Reading Senior Cup final showdown at the Madejski Stadium after losing a penalty shoot-out at Finchampstead on Saturday.

Finchampstead started the semi-final well while the Red Kites were lethargic.

Henley were missing the creativity of the injured Billy Gordon in midfield while Steven Fairchild in the Town goal was in outstanding form and had to make several brave interventions to keep his side in the match.

Henley gradually came alive and the match was end-to-end before the hosts took the lead after 43 minutes when defender Liam Worsley forced the ball into the net from a set piece.
