Five-star Clark blows Tornadoes away

AFC HENLEY HURRICANES U16s went down to a 6-2 defeat at home to MAIDENHEAD MAGPIES U16s in Division 5 of the East Berks League on Saturday.

The Magpies started brightly and wasted several chances before taking the lead. Strong defending from Jack Griffin and captain Sam Newbury minimised the damage but could not keep Maidenhead from a 3-0 lead from two unchallenged headers and a penalty.

Aneith Singh pulled one back with a penalty just before half-time to keep Henley in the game but Maidenhead restored their three goal lead early in the second half and looked in control thereafter.

Henley did threaten more in the second half with Harry Waiton and Josh McGraph coming close. Henley keeper Scott Peters was making a number of good saves but was ultimately unable to stop more Magpies conversions. Will Poray converted a second Henley goal after good work from Jason Hopes but it was to prove a consolation.

AFC HENLEY HURRICANES U13s blew ASCOT UNITED TORNADOES U13s away with a 12-3 victory in Division B of the East Berks League.
