League leaders YMCA hit Woodcote/Stoke Row for six
WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW crashed to heavy defeat away to Reading League Senior Division leaders Reading YMCA on Saturday.
The match started evenly with both sides trying to get a foothold with the hosts shading possession but Woodcote having the better chances through several set pieces but they all failed to trouble the YM keeper.
YMCA took the lead on 18 minutes through a disputed penalty.
Soon after Woodcote went 2-0 down when under pressure in his own box, Chris Piling failed to control and clear a cross allowing a home player to score from close range.
Just before the interval the hosts made it 3-0 with a 30-yard shot that found its way into the top right hand corner of the Woodcote net. Woodcote had the better of the opening 15 minutes of the second half as they pressed their YM counterparts into mistakes. The visitors had a penalty shout turned down after James Worsfold appeared to be bundled over in the box.
