Five-star Town retain cup

HENLEY TOWN won the Stewards Cup for the fourth successive season when they beat Hambleden at the Invesco Perpetual Triangle on Tuesday evening.

The Town took the lead after 24 minutes when Asa Povey shook off his marker and placed the ball in the bottom far corner of the net.

Less than two minutes later, Henley scored again as Seve Mayberry finished a strong move. Sean Moore added another goal five minutes prior to the interval.

Hambleden were never completely out of the game in the second half, but the Town made doubly sure of a comfortable victory through goals by Grant Kemp, formerly of Harefield United, and Ryan Witt in the 80th and 85th minutes.
