WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW recorded their third consecutive Thames Valley Premier League Premier Division win against Sandhurst on Saturday.
The visitors proved determined opposition but rarely threatened the Woodcote goal, while the home side wasted goalscoring opportunities which could have wrapped up the game by half-time.
Dominant from the start, Woodcote were ahead inside 10 minutes when skipper Jim Hancock headed home from Jake Dillon’s cross.
A series of good chances was then missed and only a good save by Darren Russell in the home goal after 20 minutes kept his side ahead. The lead was doubled when Toby Nowell converted Frank Dillon’s cross and despite a suspicion of handball by Nowell, the goal stood. Just before half-time Frank Dillon’s drilled shot was well saved by the Sandhurst keeper.
