ROTHERFIELD UNITED U12s crashed out of the Oxford Mail Boys’ League Cup after going down 3-1 at home to CHALGROVE CAVALIERS U12s.
Rotherfield created seven opportunities to score in the first 20 minutes as the game was all in Chalgrove’s half. United were unable to capitalise on any of their chances, in part down to Chalgrove’s keeper and two centre backs who cleared everything that came their way.
Towards the end of the first half against the run of play Chalgrove took the lead with their only foray into Rotherfield’s half. Chalgrove started the second half stronger, buoyed by their narrow lead and caught Rotherfield napping to extend their lead.
Rotherfield put pressure on Chalgrove but once again were unable to convert their chances. Once again, against the run of play, Chalgrove broke away to score their third of the match.
In the final five minutes Rotherfield scored a consolation goal when Luke Mullin netted off a Tom Jordan assist.
