RICHARD FROUDE netted a hat-trick as Emmer Green eased into the semi-finals of the Berks and Bucks Cup at Bulmershe Old Boys on Sunday.
Emmer Green took the lead early on after Daniel Donegan won the ball in the Bulmershe half and slipped Richard Bennett through for him to score in the bottom right-hand corner.
The visitors doubled their lead after Dave Page hit a 30-yard pass to Richie Froude who finished in style.
Emmer Green extended their lead after Richard Bennett had a shot from outside the box which the Bulmershe keeper couldn’t hold and Froude was on hand to pick up the loose ball and fire home. Daniel Donegan then set up his brother Luke for the visitors’ fourth of the game.
Emmer Green went further ahead when Daniel Donegan put brother Luke Donegan through for him to put the ball into the top right-hand corner.
The tie was beyond Bulmershe’s reach when Emmer Green scored their fifth goal of the match. Strong work from James Cross down the right-hand side found him on the 18-yard box where he put a through ball to Froude which allowed him to complete his his hat-trick.
Emmer Green went off the boil for the last 10 minutes of the game which allowed Bulmershe to get two goals back.
