Candish on target to lift United off foot of table

A GOAL after 15 minutes was enough to lift ROTHERFIELD UNITED off the foot of the John Dell Senior Division

A GOAL after 15 minutes was enough to lift ROTHERFIELD UNITED off the foot of the John Dell Senior Division table.

Tom Candish struck for United after 15 minutes to secure the Bishopswood side victory against relegation rivals UNITY, who have now slipped to the foot of the table. United have now won four of their last six matches.

In the Premier Division Jim Nightingale put GORING UNITED ahead at FILSHAM AND YATTENDON before the home side hit back to eventually run out 4-1 winners.

SONNING got their Division 1 title charge back on track with a narrow 3-2 victory over basement-side WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES at Pound Lane.

Kevin Blake gave Sonning the lead after 20 minutes but Woodcote hit back through Andy Taylor and Chris Morrison to lead 2-1 early in the second half. Blake was again on target to level the scores on 70 minutes, before Matthew Anderson got the winner 10 minutes from time.

In Division 2 GORING UNITED RESERVES went down to a 3-1 home defeat against league leaders WOODLEY HAMMERS.
