GORING ROBINS U12s progressed to the next round of the Oxford Mail Boys’ League Cup last Sunday after scoring three goals in the second half against Chalgrove Cavaliers.
After an open and balanced first half ended in stalemate, the Robins slowly started to dominate in the second.
The Robins took the lead after 40 minutes when Adam Wise crossed into the box and, with his back to goal, Jamie Masters took the ball on his chest before volleying into the far corner on the turn.
Goring’s second came when Hugh Murray made himself space down the left before crashing the ball in from a tight angle.
Nonetheless, the Cavaliers weren’t out of the game and pressed hard, but could not convert their chances.
The Robins secured their passage to the quarters when Dan Wallace picked out Masters again who beat the on-rushing keeper to make it 3-0.
