AFC HENLEY HURRICANES U10s continued their strong end to the season as they beat BINFIELD TORNADOES U12s 3-2 in the East Berks League at Jubilee Park on Saturday.

Henley had to weather a storm from the Tornadoes in the first quarter with Luke Taylor and joint men-of-the-match Liam Hilditch and Will Davie all performing well in their defensive duties.

With seconds remaining in the first quarter, the Hurricanes took the lead when Jem McAllister split the Binfield defence with a diagonal pass into the path of Archie Barker who volleyed home.

The second half moved up a gear with both teams scoring two apiece. Leo Browne got back in amongst the goals for Henley with a powerful finish and put the ball on a plate for Barker to claim his second of the game. AFC HENLEY HOTSPURS U10s enjoyed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over WOODLEY SAINTS on Saturday in the East Berks League.

Woodley started the brighter as keeper Sean Miles had to pull off a couple of smart saves to keep the score level.

Henley started to get on top as Michael Clarke saw his shot well saved by the Woodley keeper. Henley were caught on the break as Woodley took the lead.

After half time Henley levelled when man-of-the-match Owen Simmons threaded a ball through to Nick Bird to fire home.

Henley took the lead when Ben Yeoman’s left wing corner was prodded home at the near post by Adam Palmer.
