Runners-up spot for Woodcote/Stoke Row

WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW have tagged themselves perennial bridesmaids as they achieved runners-up spot in the Senior Division for the fourth

WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW have tagged themselves perennial bridesmaids as they achieved runners-up spot in the Senior Division for the fourth consecutive year.

When Marlow United, leaders for most of the season, lost 6-2 to Highmoor/Ibis last Tuesday it left them unable to overhaul Woodcote’s points total.

Manager Pete McAlister, while praising the team for their efforts in going the last 15 league games undefeated, pointed to his team’s poor showing at the start and underlined the need for dedication to pre-season training and a good start to next season if the ultimate goal is to be achieved. McAlister, who originally indicated his intention to stand down after 12 successful years, has had a change of heart and will now lead his side in challenging for the title next season.

Ethan James, Ben Keable and Cofie Omar were on target as ROTHERFIELD UNITED RESERVES finished their Division 3 campaign with a 3-1 victory over UNITY RESERVES at Bishopswood.

The result left Rotherfield United Reserves in sixth spot in the table.
