WINNERSH RANGERS ran out winners of the Charity Cup after beating Wargrave at Henley Town’s Triangle ground last Wednesday in front of a large crowd.

Winnersh took an early lead when Ben Perris converted from the penalty spot.

In an even match Wargrave didn’t take their chances and were further punished just after the break. Soon after Winnersh scored their third from the penalty spot.

Wargrave pressed hard but couldn’t get past the determined Winnersh defence and were caught again two minutes from time as Rangers won the cup which was last contested for back in 1979.

The Charity Cup raised just over £300 and was split between Parkinson’s Disease UK, the Macular Society UK and the British Heart Foundation. The trophies for the cup were sponsored by Graham and Sarah Whittaker of Metering Technology Solutions.
