HENLEY TOWN put in a good performance to knock out Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division side Ascot United out of the The Flying Press Floodlit Cup at the second round stage on Tuesday night.

In an end to end high tempo game The Red Kites took the lead in the 16th minute when a cross from the left caused chaos in the Ascot defence with Mitchell Cooper and Graham Sims pressing keeper Chris Grace. This allowed Darragh O’Callaghan to score his first goal for visitors.

The game continued a frantic pace with both sides creating having chances.

Ascot striker Matt Jones could have had a hat-trick but Henley keeper Ashley East and his defenders were in top form to keep a clean sheet.
