Bray nets treble as hosts put on a five-star display

WARGRAVE leapfrogged GORING UNITED in the Division 1 table following a comprehensive 5-1 victory at the Recreation Ground.

The hosts, who dominated the game from start to finish, took the lead after 10 minutes when good work from Tom Bray and Stuart Moss set up Callum Hunter to slot home.

Wargrave doubled their lead before half-time when Bray took advantage of a mix-up between the Goring centre backs to fire home.

In the second half Stuart Moss made a run and cross from the right wing to set up Bray for his second of the game. Hunter added his second of the match from a header from a cross from the right. Goring pulled a goal back through Jack Purser six minutes from time before Bray completed his hat-trick by firming home his side’s fifth goal from the edge of the 18-yard box following good work from Stuart Moss.

In Division 2 WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES recorded their first win of the season as they won their derby clash 3-1 at GORING UNITED RESERVES.

Striker Andy Taylor scored two goals while Tom Brownlow added the third for the visitors.

Division 3 basement side SONNING A are still searching for their first points of the season after they suffered a 5-2 defeat at home to HURST at Pound Lane.

The hosts took the lead through an own goal in the first minute before the visitors hit back to take the lead.

Dean Condon netted Sonning’s second of the game in the second half before James Holder was sent off for his second yellow card offence after 71 minutes.
