Whirlwinds have no answer to Henley’s clinical display

AFC HENLEY HURRICANES U11s returned to winning ways in the East Berkshire Youth League after blowing away the LAUREL PARK

AFC HENLEY HURRICANES U11s returned to winning ways in the East Berkshire Youth League after blowing away the LAUREL PARK WHIRLWINDS U11s with an impressive second half display on Saturday.

The first half was a cagey, defensive affair with the Henley defence being led by Ollie Leeman and man-of-the-match Will Saunders and it was little surprise to see the sides go in at half-time goalless.

The second half saw the deadlock broken by Zodey Sabijan who slotted home following a defence-splitting pass from Jem McAllister. This was closely followed by a looping header by Lucas Pestana from a cross by Justus Larter who moments later was himself denied a goal by the woodwork.

Henley’s third goal resulted from Ben Hudson’s determined battling on the edge of the box with McAllister in the right place to provide the finishing touch. There was still time remaining for Liam Hilditch to hit the post on a rare foray forward from his defensive duties.
