GORING ROBINS U12s eased into the second round of the Berkshire Youth Development League Cup competition on Saturday thanks to an 11-4 victory over WHITEKNIGHTS U12s.

Sam Alexander opened the scoring for the Robins before James Pearson added a second a minute after coming on.

Two minutes later Matthew Bell put the Robins 3-0 up before Pearson found the net twice more before the break.

In the second half a goal from Bertie Spencer and two more from Pearson followed. William Cusack, Josh Monk and Edward Gilbert-Blay completed the Robins tally.

Whiteknights rallied to find the net four times in the last 20 minutes.

GORING AND STREATLEY ROBINS U15s beat CAMBERLEY TOWN U15s 8-4 in the East Berks Alliance League Division 6 in a match that included five penalties and five Goring goals scored from a corner.

Camberley took the early initiative before the Robins hit back with a Will Bovington corner which Cam Arthur headed in at the back post to draw level. A defensive lapse by the Robins made it 2-1 to Camberley before a penalty was awarded to Goring which was well saved before a defender sliced the ball into his own net to make it 2-2. Another corner found Jack Payne’s head to put Goring 3-2 up at half-time.

The second half saw Goring score five goals in 20 minutes. Two further corners resulted in two more Payne goals for his hat-trick.

The Robins won another corner and the Camberley goalkeeper this time punched it back out to Bovington who sent in a high lob missed by everyone and sailed directly into the goal for 6-2.

Felix Berks finished off a good Robins attacking move before Harry Taylor rifled home a penalty.

There were three late penalties — one missed by the Robins and two scored by Camberley.
