Emmer Green make cup progress

EMMER GREEN progressed to the fourth round of the Berks and Bucks Cup after beating Bracknell side William Twigg Albion

EMMER GREEN progressed to the fourth round of the Berks and Bucks Cup after beating Bracknell side William Twigg Albion Vets on Sunday.

Luke Donegan put the hosts ahead on 20 minutes after good play from Richard Bennett.

Emmer Green could have gone further ahead five minutes later when a cross from Luke Donegan found Chris Read but his effort hit the woodwork.

Ten minutes into the second half the visitors levelled the scores. However, the hosts hit back and retook the lead when a good ball through the middle from Daniel Donegan found Read who beat the keeper in a one-on-one situation.

Richard Bennett turned the Twigg defence in and out until one of them brought him down, allowing Daniel Donegan to step up and send the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot.

With 15 minutes remaining substiute Bartosz Rochatka scored his first goal of the season with a header.
