STUART MOSS netted a hat-trick as Wargraveprogressed to the next round of the Berkshire Trophy Centre Intermediate Cup after beating hosts Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves 4-0 at Woodcote Recreation Ground on Saturday.

Four goals were scored in the opening 12 minutes. The home side got off to the best possible start by taking the lead after five minutes.

Will Macdonald saw his long-range strike cannon off the upright, but the ball fell at the feet of Carl Smith who hammered it home from close range.

The lead was short-lived as poor defending allowed Wargrave’s George Stagg to equalise a minute later.

Two minutes later more hesitancy in the home defence saw Wargrave take the lead through Moss.

After 12 minutes a Richard Ashton strike from 15 yards curled its way into the top corner to level the scores for Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves.

Moss put the visitors in front just before half-time before securing his hat-trick and Wargrave’s fourth of the game in the second half.

In the quarter-finals Wargrave will travel to Eldon Celtic.
