Moss’ second-half double enough to sink Taplow Utd

ROTHERFIELD UNI-TED picked up a Premier Division point as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Bishopswood against MORTIMER on Saturday.

The visitors opened the scoring five minutes before half-time from the penalty spot. United hit back two minutes later when Tom Candish equalised after a neat flick-on from Ed Bickerton. SONNING remain bottom of Division 1 after losing 7-2 at home to ASHRIDGE PARK. Liam Baldock and Curtis Robertson were on target for the Pound Lane side.

WARGRAVE moved up to second place in Division 2 thanks to a 2-1 victory away to basement side TAPLOW UNITED RESERVES . The visitors had the better of a goalless first half with Stuart Moss going closest to scoring as his effort hit the post.

Moss gave Wargrave the lead in the second half after good work from Dan Patterson down the right wing.

Moss made it 2-0 to the visitors with a 20-yard shot before Taplow United Reserves pulled a goal back 10 minutes from time.



Elsewhere in the division GORING UNITED went down to a 4-1 defeat away at WESTWOOD UNITED RESERVES. Tom Heslop was the scorer for the visitors who remain second from bottom in the table.

In Division 3 WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES picked up a 4-2 victory away to promotion hopefuls SRCC. Goals for the visitors came from Paul Knox, Will Macdonald, Andy Taylor and an own goal.

GORING UNITED RESERVES suffered a heavy 12-1 defeat at home to UNITY RESERVES. Chris Purnell was on target for the hosts.

Elsewhere in the division SONNING A went down 7-1 at SHINFIELD with Guy Brown netting for the visitors.
