The hosts were immediately put under pressure by the visitors, who had won all their matches since joining the division this year.
Against the run of play a great through ball from Henleyâ??s Ciaran Gilder put Sonny Martin in space who fired home past the keeper to put the hosts ahead.
Man-of-the-match Jack Summerwill in the Henley goal kept the Hawks lead intact with some fine stops, including a fingertip nudge past the post, but eventually the Hawley pressure paid dividends and the visitors equalised after 20 minutes.
Five minutes later a long ball down the pitch from the Hawley defence was converted.
Just before half-time Hawley extended their lead with a close range shot that Summerwill did well to reach but couldn't keep out.
In the second half Hawley piled on further pressure and despite some solid clearances from Sam Morgan in defence, a number of defensive errors let the visitors extend their lead to 6-1.
Some decent runs from midfield by Martin and Alex Nice were unsuccessful as Henley were unable to score again. A final goal for Hawley rounded off the scoring.
