Henley win despite testing conditions

AFC HENLEY U10s overcame testing pitch conditions to record a 2-0 win against Old Windsor Tigers in their Berkshire FA league Division C clash

AFC HENLEY U10s overcame testing pitch conditions to record a 2-0 win against Old Windsor Tigers in their Berkshire FA league Division C clash.

Players who would normally control 50-metre passes found it difficult to control the ball and it was no surprise the first half ended 0-0.

After the break, a great run from Danny McAllister on the left was followed by a subtle pass to George Hughes up front who scored with a clinical finish.

Tobias Bruun-Anderson and Archie Smith controlled the midfield with the latter making a fine defensive block to thwart Old Windsor who started to get into the game.

Old Windsor had a number of corners but they came to nothing with Noah Cowan and Seb Van Duijn keeping the opposition at bay alongside a man-of-the-match performance from Ollie Roullier.

Henley put the game beyond doubt after a good run and combination up front with Tyler Chidwick and McAllister, with the ball bouncing back to Sonny Munrow who made no mistake.
