AFC HENLEY HURRICANES U12s stay top of the East Berkshire Division 1 despite losing 1-0 to SANDHURST TOWN REDS.

The first free-kick of the game went Henley's way, taken by Jem McAllister, saw a goalmouth scramble and a disallowed goal from Justus Larter for Henley.

Some good link-up play between Jamie Hudson and Lucas Pestana enabled Henley to have shots on goal, which the Sandhurst goalkeeper dealt with.

Against the run of play, the home team was awarded a penalty, struck well by Sandhurst, but they were denied a goal by Henley goalkeeper Luke Taylor. It remained goalless at half-time.

After the break it was more end-to-end action with Sandhurst in the ascendancy. A corner kick by Henley taken well by Larter but unable to connect with the Henley strikers.

Sandhurst won a free-kick deep in the Henley half, neatly passed forward, and were able to capitalise and take the lead.

With Henley under pressure, stalwart defenders, Ollie Leeman, Liam Hilditch and Will Saunders, stifled further attacks to keep the score at  1-0.
