A BELOW-PAR performance by WOODCOTE/ STOKE ROW on Saturday saw them struggle to beat a TAPLOW UNITED side determined to avoid the 7-1 beating they had suffered at the hands of Woodcote on the previous Saturday.
The home side had virtually all the possession, but wasted all the chances which came their way in the first half.
Taplow capitalised on a defensive error with O’Connor putting his side ahead before the break.
The second half followed a similar pattern until Jake Dillon scored on 53 minutes to make it 1-1.
Woodcote continued to press and the impressive Ben Rusher saw a shot brilliantly saved by the Taplow keeper.
It was not until the 81st minute that Woodcote scored the winner.
Substitute Toby Nowell was put through and with Taplow claiming offside he managed to force the ball into the back of the net, although his effort was received some help on its way in by a defender.
In spite of dropping only two points so far this season, Woodcote are still only in fourth place in the Premier Division table.
Also in the Premier Division, ROTHERFIELD UNITED, with only one win and four defeats so far this season, continued their poor form with a 5-1 home defeat tofourth-placed AFC ALDERMASTON.
WARGRAVE are still seeking their first point of the season after going down 4-3 away a WESTWOOD UNITED RESERVES in Division 2.
In Division 4, third-placed ROTHERFIELD UNITED RESERVES drew 3-3 away to AFC CORINTHIAN RESERVES, who are place above them in second.
