Parker bags 7 as Kidmore thrash Reading Irish

MITCHELL PARKER scored seven goals as KIDMORE END trashed READING IRISH 8-2 in their Senior Division clash at Gallowstree Common.

MITCHELL PARKER scored seven goals as KIDMORE END trashed READING IRISH 8-2 in their Senior Division clash at Gallowstree Common.

The host side started brightly and could have been a couple of goals up inside the first couple of minutes but they were thwarted by the impressive Reading Irish goalkeeper who made two saves from Patrick Gardener.

Mitchell Parker then scored two goals for Kidmore End in the space of five minutes, the second with a sublime chip into the top corner

Reading Irish pulled a goal back just before half-time before Parker completed his hat-trick after beating two players and slotting the ball past the keeper.

Early in the second half Parker added his fourth of the match to put his side 4-2 up.



Both teams then made changes due to injuries and following good work Gardiner extended the home side’s lead from a corner.

Parker then added a further three goals to complete his and Kidmore End’s scoring.

Elsewhere in the top division EMMER GREEN went down to a 1-0 defeat away at WHITLEY TAVERN.

The visitors started the better of the two sides opening Tavern’s defence several times and having the better chances in the first half.

Whitley Tavern took the lead when John Donegan gave away a soft penalty which Mark Compton got a hand to but he couldn’t keep it out.

Emmer Green kept attacking in the second half but kept falling foul of the offside trap. Tavern could have double their lead with a one-on-one late on but Emmer Green’s keeper saved well.

In Division 1 HENLEY TOWN went down to a 5-2 defeat at home to WOODLEY WANDERERS.

The match was evenly balanced in the first half as the visitors led 1-0. In the second half the Wanderers added four more goals while Henley scored twice through an own goal and Sam Bell.

Elsewhere in the division SC UNITED went down to a 3-1 defeat away at CHARVIL RANGERS.

In Division 3 East, visitors MAPLEDURHAM went down to a 5-2 defeat away at JUST PLAY UNITED.

Two evenly matched teams played some attractive football with the hosts taking the lead through a free kick. Mapledurham equalised soon after with a neat finish from Danny Gale.

Two errors from Mapledurham gifted goals to Just Play as the hosts went into the interval 3-1 up.

Mapledurham started the second half brightly and continued to pile pressure on the Just Play United goal. As the half wore on and Mapledurham had to take more risks they were hit on the break to go 4-1 down.

Mapledurham pulled a goal back through Stuart Owen before the hosts netted the final goal of the match late on.

In Division 4 East host club HENLEY YMCA UNITED let a two-goal lead slip as they crashed 4-2 at home to BORUSSIA TEETH. Arron Stevens put United 1-0 up and the lead was doubled soon after when Callum Butler put Aiden Rushton through to score with a volley. The visitors pulled a goal back following a scramble in the area before equalising just before half-time. Five minutes into the second half the hosts were reduced to 10 men when Kieran Butler received his marching orders. Borussia Teeth made full use of the one-man advantage as they went on to score two goals without reply.
