KIDMORE END progressed to the next round of the Tilehurst Charity Cup after defeating Purley 3-2 at Gallowstree Common on Sunday.
The match got off to an even start with the visitors working hard to close Kidmore End down whilst also posing a threat up front.
On the quarter-of-an-hour mark, just as the hosts were starting to get a foothold into the game, Purley took the lead when a long kick up pitch caught out the Kidmore keeper with the ball bouncing over his head to leave their forward to tap home into an empty net.
Five minutes later the visitors doubled their lead with a 30-yard free kick.
In the second half Kidmore End took the game to the visitors with Mitchell Parker going close early on. Five minutes later Kidmore pulled a goal back when Parker won a penalty before firing home the resulting spot kick.
With Kidmore End piling on the pressure Pat Gardiner was put through after some slick passing but the keeper was brave at his feet and Mo Davis following up fired over.
Two minutes later a Kidmore corner was headed back by Jamie Thomas who found Gardiner who fired home the equaliser.
Kidmore found the winner from a 50 yard pinpoint pass from Zach Tull to Gardiner to head home
Purley almost snatched a draw in the final minutes but Simon Switala pulled off a good save.
