Rushton at double

EMMER GREEN picked up a point in the Senior Division as they drew 3-3 away to high-flying DEE

EMMER GREEN picked up a point in the Senior Division as they drew 3-3 away to high-flying DEE ROAD RANGERS.

Elsewhere in the division KIDMORE END went down to a 3-1 defeat away to RICHFIELD ROVERS.

In Division 1 SC UNITED crashed to a 5-1 defeat at home to promotion-chasing WOODLEY WANDERERS.

HENLEY YMCA UNITED maintained their promotion push in Division 4 East as they won 4-1 at FOX AND HOUNDS.

The visitors started well with good possession and passing football and went 1-0 up when Dan Hayden released Aiden Rushton who finished calmly past the keeper.

Rushton returned the favour five minutes later when he played Hayden through who lobbed the keeper to make it 2-0.

Tom Essam went close to extending the visitors’ lead but saw his shot crash against the crossbar.

In the second half Hayden put Arron Stevens through who slotted home to make it 3-0. The Fox and Hounds pulled a goal back after some slack defending.

YM restored their three goal advantage soon after when Stevens beat two defenders before poking the ball across the box to Rushton who fired home his second of the match.
