One short for the whole match

EMMER GREEN played their entire Senior Division clash with WHITLEY TAVERN with just 10 players.

EMMER GREEN played their entire Senior Division clash with WHITLEY TAVERN with just 10 players.

The club was left short due to injuries and several players being away on holiday and so it came as no surprise that the visitors came out 5-1 winners.

Whitley raced into a two-goal lead but Green did pull a goal back through Bartosz Rochatka who scored a superb volley to make it 2-1 at the break. After the re-start the visitors enjoyed large amounts of possession and broke the Green defence three more times to register a convincing win.

In Division 1, SC UNITED came out on the wrong end of a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of AFC BURGHFIELD after a close game.

It took a curling free kick, which went in off a post, with 20 minutes left on the clock to break the deadlock. United then pushed forward to try and grab an equaliser but Burghfield responded with a swift counter attack five minutes from time to put the result beyond doubt.

United next face HENLEY TOWN on Sunday in a bottom-of-the-table clash, with both sides currently on 11 points. Henley will go into the match with confidence after an drawing 4-4 with  WOODLEY WANDERERS.

In Division 4 East, HENLEY YMCA UNITED beat KENNET VALLEY RESERVES 3-2 to move up into second in the league.
