TWO goals in the first 15 minutes was enough to give WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW a 2-1 victory at home to HURST in their Thames Valley Premier Division clash.
The hosts took the lead after only seven minutes when Tommy Chapman bagged his second goal in as many matches with a great strike.
Woodcote doubled their lead on 15 minutes when Jonny Summers was upended in the area and Toby Nowell stepped up to convert the penalty.
After that, the half was a story of missed chances with Woodcote missing the opportunity to put the game to bed.
After the restart, Woodcote continued to create chances but Hurst too also had their moments and reduced the arrears.
On the hour mark, Kane Roberts in the Woodcote goal failed to hold a free kick and a Hurst forward was quicker to the rebound than the home defence and converted from close-range. This led to few anxious moments for the home defence with Mike Higley clearing off the line and Hurst going close on a couple more occasions but Woodcote held on.
Meanwhile, ROTHERFIELD UNITED suffered a humbling 3-0 home defeat at the hands of NEWBURY FC.
Liam Benham bagged a brace for the visitors with the other strike falling to Jordan Farr, who was also cautioned.
Rotherfield’s Guy Bickerton also picked up a yellow card but with 10 minutes remaining.
In Division 2, WARGRAVE came from behind three times at ASHRIDGE PARK before claiming all three points after a scrappy game.
Ashridge took the lead in the first half from a corner but was cancelled out when a cross from the left wing from Callum Hunter was headed home by Alex Garnet from 12 yards.
The hosts then made it 2-1 on the stroke of half-time before Hunter replied shortly after the restart following good work from Ben Carter.
Ashridge then re-took the lead minutes later only to be pegged back again by a Tom Bray header after a flick from Marc Jones.
Bray then turned the tables on Ashridge, winning the game with a 25 yard left-foot strike into the top corner.
Elsewhere, a great strike by Adam Wheeler on the hour mark gave WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES a 2-1 win away at BARKHAM ATHLETIC. Andy Taylor was their other goalscorer.
SONNING went down 2-0 at home to MARLOW UNITED RESERVES while hosts WESTWOOD UNITED RESERVES put six goals past GORING UNITED in their clash. William Jaycock scored a consolation for the visitors.
In Division 3, the WARGRAVE RESERVES match at home against AFC ALDERMASTON was declared a walkover to the hosts.
In Division 4, ROTHERFIELD UNITED RESEERVES went down 3-2 away at HARCHESTER HAWKS while in Division 5, the GORING UNITED RESERVES match away at SHINFIELD RANGERS was declared a home walkover.
