EMMER GREEN, playing with 10 men, narrowly lost out 2-1 away to RICHFIELD ROVERS in their Senior Division clash on Sunday.
Following a goalless first half the visitors went a goal down five minutes into the second half before the visitors equalising after intercepting a ball close to the home goal.
With time running out Richfield Rovers were awarded a penalty which keeper David Mortimer, despite diving the right way, could not keep out.
Last Thursday EMMER GREEN secured all three points as they triumphed 3-1 at READING IRISH.
The hosts took the lead with a shot that dipped over Emmer Green keeper David Mortimer. The visitors equalised when Craig Eastwood slotted home into an empty net after the Irish keeper slipped.
Mortimer who was a last minute replacement for usual keeper Mark Compton pulled off a fine save, diving low to clear off the line and to keep the score 1-1 at half-time.
Emmer Green started the second half strongly and took the lead when Daniel Donegan played the ball into brother Luke, who rifled the ball home from 25 yards into the top right hand corner.
Both teams piled on the pressure but Mortimer was on top form to keep Irish at bay. Captain Daniel Donegan sealed the points for Emmer Green from the penalty spot after Luke Donegan was taken out in the box.
Elsewhere in the division KIDMORE END crashed to a 6-0 defeat away to BARTON ROVERS.
HENLEY TOWN went down to a 3-1 defeat in Division 1 away to a strong MORTIMER side on Tuesday of last week.
Henley went two goals behind but pulled one back before the interval. Mortimer scored again in the second half to complete the score line.
