Vines in fine form between the sticks

ROTHERFIELD UNITED GIRLS U13s ran out winners in their first ever tournament at Marlow.

Sophie Darnell and Sophie Attfield were both on target in United’s first match, a 2-0 win against the host side.

In their second match they drew 0-0 with Marlow Blue before beating Wargrave Warriors 1-0 thanks to a goal by Daisy Green.

Rotherfield then lost their only match of the tournament going down to Wargrave Sparks. United won their final group match against Thatcham 2-0 with goals from Darnell and Attfield to secure a place in the final.

In the final against Thatcham Tornadoes the match ended goalless. United won the subsequent penalty shoot out thanks to two fine saves by goalkeeper Ruby Vines.
