Grow your own fruit

RESIDENTS of Henley are being encouraged to plant fruit trees.

RESIDENTS of Henley are being encouraged to plant fruit trees.

The “Grow Your Own” initiative is being run by Gainsborough Residents’ Association in association with Henley in Bloom, Henley in Transition and the town council.

Residents on the Gainsborough estate are being urged to plant apple, pear, plum and cherry trees in their gardens in order to encourage bees and butterflies, improve the appearance of the estate and eventually produce their own fruit.

They are being offered a 20 per cent discount on fruit trees bought from the Toad Hall garden centre in Marlow Road.
