Petrie takes top prize

HENLEY captain Roger Hudson held his Captain’s Competition last Saturday.

Marcel Petrie was the winner of the men’s competition with a score of 39 Stableford points within a scorecard containing four birdies. David Wilks and Nigel Belcher were a point further behind which in turn was a point better than Dave Lawrence and Simon Lawson.

Gay Bentley-Coleman won the ladies’ competition with a score of 36 points that was three points better than Lucy Terris, Rachel Hall and Clare Dodds.

The junior prize went to Max Gosby with a score of 38 points which was one point better than runner-up Leo Allen. The senior section held the Summer Trophy competition on Monday and this proved successful for 17 handicapper David Kirk with a score of 41 stableford points which was two points better than runner-up Nigel Rogers. Ian Norris, Dave Sexon, Richard Sessions and Rob Ellerby recorded 38 points to compete for the lower placings within the competition.
