Countback rule used to decide trophy winners

Kennedy ended the Stableford competition with a wobble, recording a triple bogey and bogey on his last two holes. However, it was still enough to give him the nod on countback from Barry Reynolds, both players with 40 points.

Jim McGiveron claimed the Abbott Hill competition top prize with rounds of 35 and 40 points for a combined score of 75 points. Runner-up was Andrew Parker with 35+25=70 points. Equal third were Christopher Searle 33+36=69 and Archie Smith with 36+33=69.

Caroline Dover won the ladies’ yellow tee fun event with 28 points. Runner-up was Debbie Harris on countback from Sheila Evans, both with 19 points.

Scott Iremonger won Division 1 of the midweek medal, recording 11 pars in his score of net 66. Second was Shaun Wharton with net 70. Third was Jack Russell on countback from Lee Kirton, both with net 71. Russell scored nine pars while Kirton had eight, but double bogeyed the last.
