Captain Walker leads side to finals

BADGEMORE PARK’S seniors have won their division of the M4 Winter League and qualified for the final where their opponents will be Harleyford.

The competition is in its first year and was set up to provide a seniors winter tournament for clubs who would like to continue a competitive aspect to winter play for their members with a minimum age of 55.

The organisers are hoping to expand the number of clubs participating but at present it consists of 10 which have been divided into two divisions, east and west.

The five teams play on a home and away basis and the fixtures were played between October and March with each club playing a maximum of eight matches. The winners of each division would meet in a final at a neutral venue.

To qualify for the final Badgemore had to win their final fixture against West Berks who were their nearest rivals.
