HENNERTON held their club championships over the weekend with 52 players competing.
In the men’s event George Pugsley took the honours by claiming the gross prize. The left handed player put in a solid performance, posting two 73s for a total of 146.
Pugsley also retained the handicap prize with a net total of 120. Runner-up was Rye Harding, who posted a two-day total of 149, three shots behind Pugsley. Alan Fraser was third with 151. Fraser also finished runner-up in the net competition with 123, beating junior member Will Staig on countback.
The ladies’ trophy was won by Lin Morton, a multiple club champion at her previous club Bearwood.
Morton posted a two round total of 161 which gave her a seven shot win. Last year’s ladies’ captain Penny Holmes came second with 168. Holmes also had the consolation of winning the net prize with a net total of 132. Last year’s ladies’ champion, Liz Deaney, came third with 171.
