Championship runner-up wins Hearn Cup

Championship runner-up wins Hearn Cup
RYE HARDING won this year’s Hearn Cup at Hennerton Golf Club.

Good scores were made by the 59 players who took part in the 24th annual competition.

Played in a strokeplay format, the cup was the first competition the founding members played for, after the landowners Peter and Jaleh Hearn completed the course.

It is a trophy that has been played for every year since and is considered one of the club’s most prestigious events alongside the club championship.

Club championship runner-up Harding posted a net 55 score from his 12 handicap to win by just the one stroke from long-time clubhouse leader Chris Whyatt. Harding saw his handicap reduced to 11 after the win.
