Robertson has edge in medal success

THERE were tight finishes in all three divisions of the Weekend Medal at Caversham Heath.

Matt Robertson got the nod in Division 1 on countback after the first three players all finished on net 71. Jon Winstanley was second, on countback from Richard Craven. Robertson recorded 11 pars and three birdies while Winstanley ended with a double bogey. Craven carded 12 pars, two birdies and an eagle but three successive bogeys from the 11th hole proved costly.

Division 2 winner was Gareth Ford on countback from Andrew Thompson, both with net 72. Third was Barry Reynolds with net 73.

Division 3 was more clear cut with Jack Bristow taking the honours with net 71. It was much tighter for the places with Stephen Casey securing second spot with a net 75. Third was Debbie Harris on countback from Adam Baker, both with net 76.

There was also a tight finish to Division 1 of the Midweek Medal where Santiago Fernandez-Garcia got the nod on countback from Julien Constans, both with net 69. Third was Michael Gennace with net 72.

Division 2 winner was Caroline Dover with net 73. Runner-up was husband Daniel Dover on countback from Jack Bristow both with net 76.

The pairing of Caroline Dover and Anne Smith won the Ladies Foursomes Daily Mail qualifier on countback from Fung Yee Sarah Lau and Pamela Stapeley, both with 75.5. Third were Kathy North and Rachel Downey with 83.5.
