THE Springs Golf Club’s ladies narrowly lost out to Frilford Heath in the first round of the county knockout competition.
The Springs Ladies had a titanic tussle with Frilford Heath in the 1st round of the County KO.
Played off scratch the lower handicap Frilford ladies had the edge on paper. But, in their new blue match uniform, the Springs performed equally as well.
A win for Janet Franklin and Wendy Nathan was offset by a loss from Sue Arrighi and Sue Bowler.
The third match saw Jacqui Pritchard and Margaret Quarterman stage a fight back. From four down they managed to take their match to the 19th hole, before Frilford finally secured victory.
The Summer League series began over the weekend with the best score going to 10 handicapper Paul West who shot 44 points.
