Bennett and McEvoy tee off

THE new Caversham Heath captains for 2013, Chris Bennett and Jill McEvoy, drove into office at the annual Captain’s Drive-in on Sunday.

The Texas Scramble competition was won by Clive Morris, Carl Bache, Lynn Rumbold and Doug Bushell with a score of 58.7.

Caversham ladies won the best gross and the best net in the silver division at the Berkshire County Ladies Golf Association Spring meeting at Donnington Valley recently.

Kjersti Cannon secured the best gross score with 100 while Jane Weller recorded the best net with a 82. Both go through to represent the club in the County Ann Bryant Cup.

James Millard and Callum Peart have been crowned the junior foursomes knockout winners. Will Tate and Archie Smith were runners-up.

Millard and Peart have also been making news in other competitions with Millard winning the green jumper in the juniors masters medal and Peart having a hole in one at the 13th hole in the junior Stableford.

Barney Wytchard came top in the junior medal with a nett 70. Millard was runner-up with a nett 71 and Sam Andrews was third with a net 72.

Lynne Rumbold took the honours in a closely contested J&P Vase competition with 36 points. In third place was Angela Adamson on countback from Kathy North and Margie Cutts, all with 35 points.
