Corcoran secures championship title

MIKE CORCORAN, who was runner-up at last year’s Hennerton seniors championship, went one better and won the title on Sunday.

MIKE CORCORAN, who was runner-up at last year’s Hennerton seniors championship, went one better and won the title on Sunday.

Corcoran’s winning score was a gross 75, net 57. Corcoran was five shots clear of the rest of the field as he claimed the title whilst receiving a two shot cut in his handicap from 18 to 16.

Second place went to Mark Puddle, who beat off three other players on countback after they all tied on net 62. Puddle’s back nine was better than third place Phil Skelland who in turn had a better back nine than Adam Dandridge and Mick Elliman who finished fourth and fifth respectively after the countback rule was applied.

In the ladies’ senior championship, Sue Williams came out on top with a gross 86, net 60. Williams beat defending champion Di Moss to the title on countback, after Moss had also posted a net 60 from her 20 handicap.

Both Williams and Moss were cut one shot each to 25 and 19 respectively. Third place went to Nuala Priest after she posted a net 63 from her 34 handicap.
