Anderson wins county title on home course

BADGEMORE Park’s ladies’ club champion Millie Anderson won the Oxfordshire Junior Girls’ Championship on her home course last Thursday.

BADGEMORE Park’s ladies’ club champion Millie Anderson won the Oxfordshire Junior Girls’ Championship on her home course last Thursday.

Ten girls from across the county took part in the 18-hole medal competition where prizes were up for grabs in the best gross and best net scores, with runner-up in both categories.

This was also a Telegraph qualifier for their junior championship where the finalists will play in Portugal later in autumn.

Anderson won the competition with a gross score of 80. Second place went to Sally Ayres. The net winner was Amy Boote of Tadmarton with a score of 67 while Chipping Norton’s Emily Melling was second on 69.

Henley Golf Club’s Mairi Weir won the nine hole Stabford competition while Jessica Totoni of Studley Wood won the nine-hole shortened course.
