Mills tees off at Henley

NEW Henley Golf Club captain Stewart Mills drove into office last Sunday with a drive down

NEW Henley Golf Club captain Stewart Mills drove into office last Sunday with a drive down the fairway of 200 yards.

The Dunsden Green-based Mills invited the Badgemore Park captain Danny Fois and two other Badgemore members to the event and in the competition that preceded the drive-in the club held a team Stableford competition which was won by the team of past captain Ray Ponsford, Bernie Clark, Trevor Cooper and Nigel Belcher with 83 points. The fourball of Colin Grimmett, Danny Franks, Andy Williams and Dave Crooks were the runners-up with 81 points whilst the team of Hugh Archibald, Dave Sexon, Steve Webb and Dave Dickie were third with 79 .

The new captain along with the ladies’ captain Jacqui McCourt have chosen MND (Motor Neurone Disease) as their chosen charity this year and one of the fund raisers and a sufferer himself past captain Peter Phillips presented the prizes.
