JUST one point separated five players at the Division 1 midweek stableford at Caversham Heath.
Four players shot 41 points but that wasn’t enough to win as Paul Clemas (6hcp) came in with 42 points to win, courtesy of four birdies and an eagle.
Three of his birdies came on the front nine, with the eagle on the 11th hole. Another birdie at the 15th hole meant he scored 22 points on the back nine to go with the 40 points scored on the front nine.
Count-back was used to separate the next four players who all scored 41 points. Andre Claassen (14hcp) edged second due to a back nine of 23 points, including a birdie on the 14th hole.
Darren Bonney (5hcp) recorded three birdies (and three bogeys) for a gross level par to finish third, ahead of Stuart Errington (13hcp) and Gerry Rogers (12hcp), respectively.
In Division 2, Jane Weller (23hcp) had a front nine of 19 points and backed it up with 18 points on the back nine to top the division with 37 points. She took the prize on count-back from Simon Dicketts (23hcp). In third place was Lynne Rumbold (18hcp) with 34 points.
