MILLIE ANDERSON secured the Vlasto Cup at Badgemore Park last Saturday.

Pete Foster was the pick of the men returning a score of 39 points but he was pipped into second place by 18—year—old county ladies’ champion Anderson’s score of 41 points.

Anderson played a three under par on the back nine and, as a result of her success on the day, saw her handicap cut to five, achieving category one status. The club’s annual Pro Am took place on Sunday with a field of 22 teams of four from which the winning team of Barry Stanley, Minesh Parmar, Wendy Jeldon and team professional Lee Gauthier posted a net score of 10 under.

The individual professionals’ competition was won by Paul Newman of East Berks Golf Club, shooting a three under 66 in blustery conditions. Lee Gauthier, previously an assistant professional at Badgemore Park, came second with a one under 68.
