ANDY KING posted his best competition 18 hole score since joining Caversham Heath Golf Club in the November midweek Stableford.
A solid 18 points on the front gave King the foundation to build on, which he did in style with 20 points on the back nine, including a birdie two on the 13th, and a Division 1 winning total of 38 points.
Roger Landon got off to a good start, scoring 21 points on the front nine. The back nine wasn’t quite as strong, but it did include a birdie on the 16th which helped him grab second place on 37 points â?? a bogey on the last costing him dearly. Jose Fernandez Moure was third with 35 points.
Division 2 saw an equally close finish with David Cumming taking the honours on countback from Adrian Ford, both with 34 points. An important par on the 17th hole proved the deciding factor in favour of Cummings. Lady captain Jane Weller was third with 33 points.
Caversham Heath ladies finished in third place in their first season in the 2015 Silver League. In the bronze league Caversham ladies thrashed Reading 6-0 defeat at Donnington Valley. All three pairings enjoyed comfortable wins â?? Kjersti Cannon and Jane Weller won 5 and 3, Pam Stapeley and Kathy North won 3 and 2 and Sarah Lau and Caroline Dover won 5 and 4.
Jack Bristow won the latest junior Stableford, on countback from Callum Peart, both with 25 points. Third was Will Tate with 17 points.
