Hudson tees off at Henley

NEW Henley Golf Club captain Roger Hudson drove into his 12 months in office.

NEW Henley Golf Club captain Roger Hudson drove into his 12 months in office.

Hudson, a 17 handicapper based in Henley, has been at the golf club for 15 years.

He has chosen to support the Sport in Mind mental health charity throughout the year.

Before Hudson’s ceremonial drive, the club held a team Stableford which was won by the quartet of John Howie, Tony Hayden-Cadd, Chris O’Donnell and John Mitchell with a score of 85 points.

One point behind was the team of Ron Jacobs, Mike Walker, Ray Ponsford and Bernie Clark whilst the team of Steve Needham, Dave Williams, Chris Maxted and Kenny Kent were third with 82 points.



Henley Golf Club stalwart Eric Hill was the winner of the competition to guess the resting place of the captains’ drive-in ball.
