Taylor caps ladies’ win

MAPLEDURHAM hosted its men’s and ladies’ seniors championships last weekend.

MAPLEDURHAM hosted its men’s and ladies’ seniors championships last weekend.

In the ladies’ event Teresa Taylor, playing off a handicap of 11, won with a gross score of 83. The runner-up was Carole Gardner who returned a gross score of 91. Joan Cadge took the honours in the net competition after her handicap was taken into account.

In the men’s championship Gary Barlow was out on his own returning a gross score of 75 from an 11 handicap. Runner up was Kevin Kersley who carded 79 strokes. Barlow also took the net competition with a round of 64 which resulted in his handicap being cut. Second place was taken by Peter Ambrose with 68 after a countback from Errol Carrington who was third.
