CAVERSHAM Heath’s new captains drove into office last week.

Luis Mesquita and Kathy North managed 359 yards for their combined drives with Stuart Webb closest to guessing the combined distance.

Winners of the drive-in competition were Jonathan Fleming, Stuart Webb, Phil Wise and Julie Casey with a score of 61.2. Runners-up were Anne Smith, Edward Houghton, Sue Parcell and Neil McAllister with 61.3.

Nearest the pin winners were Andy Lambourne, Colin Leighton and John Clark.

The Green Challenge was won by James Cross, Mick Beaumont, Matt Brakspear and Jonathan Clark.



The Combined Drives competition and the Green Challenge raised £228 for the Captains’ Charity.

Elsewhere Lynne Rumbold won the ladies’ Stableford. Rumbold won the competition, which was also an Angela Uzielli qualifier, with 32 points. Runner-up was Pamela Stapeley on countback from Fung Yee Sarah Lau, both with 31 points.

Caversham Heath celebrated being chosen as a venue for a Europro competition by holding a Europro pro-am competition.

The competition, played off 9/10 handicap allowance, was won by Seamus Smith, Matt Robertson and Archie Smith on countback from Andrew Parker, Deighton Sear and Jonathan Burnett, both teams with 81. Third were Gareth Goodall, David Stankard and Richard Craven with 77.
