AN exhibition to update residents on Goring’s neighbourhood plan will be held at the village hall next Saturday (December 10) from 10am to 4pm.
There will be a display about the findings of the research carried out to support the document, which will name the sites where at least 86 new homes must go to meet government targets.
The sites are yet to be chosen but the exhibition will explain the demands currently facing Goring and the methods that will be used to decide the final list.
According to a landscape impact study commissioned by the plan’s volunteer steering group, only six of the 15 sites put forward for development by landowners are suitable.
It’s hoped that a draft plan will be published early next year and then go to public consultation before being sent to South Oxfordshire District Council, the planning authority, for independent examination.
It should then go to a referendum in May and, if it is apporoved, the district council will be obliged to consult it when deciding planning applications.
